Songs I’ve Cried to in My Blue 2015 RAV4
Some stories are best told through songs.
When Diana Ruzova submitted “Songs I’ve Cried to in My 2015 Blue Toyota RAV4,” we weren’t quite sure what to call it. A playlist? A poem? A very concise memoir? Whatever it was, we were charmed by its simplicity and emotional depth, and published it in Carmalarky Issue One.
Diana described it this way:
“Is it an essay? Or a poem? Or a playlist? It’s supposed to tell a story about a breakup, finding yourself, and finding someone new.”
Once the issue was in print, we naturally wanted to hear the story as well as read it. We suspected readers might, too.
So, with Diana’s permission, we’ve recreated the playlist on Apple Music and Spotify. Listen in order, preferably while driving.
